Tori (she/her) was born in Chicago and spent half her childhood in the Northwest Suburbs and the other half in Connecticut. She returned to Chicago for college and feels she is a Midwest girl with a bit of the Northeast sprinkled in.

Tori feels very fortunate to have such a strong connection to her profession. She has always been passionate about birth work, and after some of her first job postings involved adults and children in need of home care, midwifery became her goal. She loves getting to know clients well and caring for them holistically through all stages of their reproductive cycles.

Working at the Birth Center of Chicago feels especially meaningful for Tori after having time in hospital settings, where she witnessed how the medical model of care does not always support a family unit and their desires during birth. Being able to offer support for partners and birth givers that is safe and well-rounded is healing as much to her as it is aligned with the care she wishes to propel in the community.

When Tori is not at the birth center, some of her favorite activities include cooking with friends and fun outdoor activities in the city. She is also a sucker for a good indoor day with a cozy cup of tea and a good book, or a bad one (which will mean she gets to wander to a bookstore to remedy that!) Tori loves to try new things and ask questions; she sees her curiosity as a real strength.

To recharge, Tori will enjoy a nice long phone call or chat with a good friend, a walk outside, or a cup of tea.
